Description
Nielsen Conservation Mounts - the best protection for your artwork. Ready to use photo mount in standard size picture frames, including the nielsen Alpha and Quadrum series.
A picture mount is an often underestimated component of a picture frame - it has an important, protective function as well as a significant, visual one.
For example, if the picture rests directly on the glass, it can stick to the glass due to humidity and temperature changes, causing damage. With the help of a mountboard, a sufficient distance is created between the picture and the glass. But the special mount can do much more. Due to its pH-neutral nature and the incorporated calcium carbonate, it can bind harmful acids in the air environment inside the picture frame and protect the picture colours and the backing material. In addition, only new and lignin-free cellulose fibres are used in the production of the mountboard. Recycled fibres are deliberately avoided, as they usually have a high lignin and residual dirt content, which causes the paper to age and yellow quickly. In order to do justice to the environment, only selected and FSC-certified (licence code FSC C021405) raw materials are used, which demonstrably originate from sustainable forestry.
The 45° bevel cut in the permanently white or black cut edge achieves an optical depth effect that clearly highlights the picture. Available in popular photographic and poster sizes, to also match the most common standard dimensions of picture frames. Check out nielsen readymade picture frames to give your framed artwork a professional finish.
Please note that the inner cut-out is approx. 1cm smaller than indicated, so that you can place the picture on the mountboard on each side and fix it with the supplied adhesive strips. It will therefore not slip through to the front.
